RESEARCH INTERESTS:

  • Yang Lab is the laboratory of “Innovative Medicine”. Dr. Yang focuses on clinical studies of patients with chronic diseases as well as basic scientific researches using cell and animal models. The research work of peritoneal dialysis in 2013 has been approved as a Taiwan national patent. After advanced research study, as a Visiting Scholar with UC San Diego Dr. Shu Chien’s Lab in 2014, Dr. Yang further extended his research work in the field of biorheology in order to emulate the in vivo environment. He aims to elucidate the biomechanical molecular pathogenesis, to translate the basic scientific results to human studies, and to improve tissue health in patients with chronic diseases. Besides, Dr. Yang also collaborated with engineering scientists to develop novel wearable devices for pathophysiological signal detection and was awarded the Future Tech Breakthrough Award from the Ministry of Science and Technology in 2017 as well as the National Innovation Award in 2018. Meanwhile, Yang Lab is also working on computer science to investigate artificial intelligence in medicine. Through multidisciplinary collaboration using integrated approach, Yang Lab aims to raise the academic performance and clinical merits of the research work to the top level.
